About Plein Air Atelier

OUR STORY

After more than two decades designing landscapes, Melissa Gerstle developed relationships with remarkable makers whose work she returned to again and again.

Plein Air Atelier brings those discoveries together in one place.

The collection includes outdoor furniture, lighting, textiles, planters, rugs, and sculptural objects selected from makers throughout Europe and beyond.

Meet Melissa Gerstle

Designing exceptional outdoor environments refined not only her understanding of landscapes, but also the furnishings, materials, and objects that complete them.

Those years of sourcing led to relationships with exceptional makers throughout Europe and beyond, many previously unavailable in Dallas. Plein Air Atelier grew from the desire to bring those discoveries together in one thoughtfully edited collection.

Melissa Gerstle Design has been featured in Architectural Digest, Veranda, House Beautiful, Flower, Luxe Interiors + Design, PaperCity, and numerous regional publications – along with recognition from Texas ASLA.

Over the years, her search for exceptional outdoor furnishings led her to makers throughout Europe and beyond – many unavailable in Dallas and some unavailable in the United States.

Plein Air Atelier grew from a desire to bring those discoveries together in one place.

We help homeowners, architects, interior designers and landscape architects create outdoor spaces that feel collected, cohesive and enduring.

Whether selecting furnishings for a new residence, specifying fabrics, pairing planters with architecture or composing an entire outdoor environment, we work as a design partner throughout the process.
